HONORING LOCAL HEROES THAT MADE LASTING LEGACIES

The Veterans Foundation & Museum of St. Marys was established in 2025 as a charitable fund whose primary goal is to promote the appreciation of Veterans of St. Marys, Ohio, and in the surrounding area, and to share those stories with the public. The St. Marys City Council voted unanimously to approve Resolution No. 2025-10 on April 28, 2025, to allow the Foundation to use the St. Marys Municipal Building for their office and museum. The Foundation is built through memberships, gifts of cash, real property, tangible personal property, donations, and fundraising. The Foundation is administered by a Board of Directors and committee members who serve on a voluntary basis.

The City of St. Marys has a rich and vibrant military history. It is essential that we never forget these men and women, nor their deeds. There are so many of our local Veterans who have served their country honorably from the 1790s to the present.

Many men and women served a single enlistment, while some made a lifelong commitment. Many were wounded during conflicts around the globe, some made the ultimate sacrifice, and many were cited for heroic acts, but all served their country and the people of St. Marys with distinction and honor.

It is the goal of the Veterans Foundation and Museum of St. Marys to preserve this incredible history for present and future generations through education, charity, memorabilia, and research.
